Zvi was born in 1918 in Poland to Pinchas and Chaia Rosen and immigrated to Israel in 1935. Zvi enlisted into the RAF whilst living in British Mandate Palestine.

His death records state that he died from an accidental gun shot wound. He was in a club with other servicemen in Alexandria when he was accidentally shot by another airman.
