Albert was born on 12 Jun 1915 in Wandsworth to Michael and Martha nee Krotoski. Before he joined the RAF Albert worked as a commercial artist.

At the age of 26, in 1941, he married Leah Lichtenstein in Newcastle upon Tyne. Their son Ronnie was born in October 1942 two months before his father’s death.

Albert was on board aircraft Catalina AJ156 which took off from RAF Pamanzi at 03.00, operation unknown. The aircraft crashed into the sea from 40 ft. and exploded shortly after becoming airborne at Pamanzi, Maylotte Island. The aircraft’s eight-man crew, as well as a Corporal cook and butcher who were on board as passengers, were killed in the crash.
