Georges was born on 9 January 1913 in Antwerp, Belgium to Ephraim Ferdinand and Hinde Rosa née Wellner and was the youngest of five children, Theodore, Celestin, Henri and Martha. Their father Ephraim died in 1921 and post war the family emigrated to the USA. George was a lawyer in Belgium before he volunteered, and worked with the Belgian cabinet minister Marcel-Henri Jaspar. His probate gives his address as 418 Avenue Louise, Brussels. Georges enlisted on 19 March 1941 and in October 1942 he received an appointment to a temporary commission.

Georges was an air bomber on Lancaster ED692 which departed RAF Langar on a night operation to Mulheim. The aircraft crashed near Cologne killing all the crew and they are all commemorated on Runnymede Memorial.
