Arthur was born 7 March 1906 in Landstuhl, Germany to Isidor and Sara nee Grunewald and he had an older brother Siegfried. Their father died in 1911 when they were only seven and five.

Arthur married Hanna on 14 December 1934 in Luxembourg and then emigrated to Palestine. Arthur’s mother and brother emigrated to New York between 1935 and 1938 and became naturalised citizens. Arthur enlisted into the RAF whilst living in Palestine in 1940.

The reason for his death in 1944 is unknown and research continues.
