In 1921, the family lived at 20 Lisvane Street, Cardiff and Arnold was listed as an out of work cinema manager having previously worked at the Ninian Cinema on Penarth Road. Arnold’s brother Rudolph was also a cinema manager in Cardiff and one of his sons Dannie became a doctor and a well known Welsh poet. One of his poems was titled ‘Cousin Sidney’ and it can be found on the link below.

By 1930, the family had moved to Birmingham where Fanny was born and Arnold became an ophthalmic optician. Rosina married Leslie Caro, an ophthalmic optician in 1936 and the 1939 Register states that they all lived at 41 Willows Crescent in Birmingham. Sidney’s occupation is listed as a private in the R.A.M.C.
