Abraham was born on 10 March 1918 in Hammersmith to Turkish born David and Polish born Sarah née Kroll and he had seven siblings, Joseph, Rachael, Leah, Tarandella, Isidor, Stella and Stephanus. Their father was born in Istanbul and worked as a drapery salesman before he died in 1935.

Abraham was the wireless operator/air gunner of Lancaster JB364 which departed from RAF East Kirkby on a night operation to Berlin. The aircraft was shot down over Berlin killing six of the crew.
