Abram was born on 5 August 1919 in Prestwich, Lancashire to Lithuania born parents Samuel and Betsy (Beyla) nee Bloch and he was one of seven children. In 1921, Samuel worked as a raincoat machinist and by 1939 he was running a grocer shop. The family lived at 93 Stocks Street in Manchester and Abram was listed as working as a rainproof garment cutter.

Abram enlisted into the Royal Army Service Corps and details of his death are unknown.
