Gerald was born in 1923 in Paddington, London to Isaac and Sarah nee Dvorkin and had two siblings, Fay and Leonard. In 1939 the family were living at 82 Davis Mansions, Stepney. Isaac was working as a leather cutter and Sarah was a shirt hand.

Gerald was killed in aircraft Boston BZ658 on 7 March 1945. The Operational Record Book states: Aircraft crashed on striking telegraph pole just 600 yards beyond runway. Pilot lost control and aircraft crashed two miles beyond aerodrome. Bomb load and petrol exploded. Crew killed.
