On February 9th, 1941, a mayday from the British freighter S/S Kervegan, bound from Halifax to London with a cargo of pulpwood, was heard, reporting assistance as she was in danger of capsizing. This was the last time she was ever heard from. Days later, wreckage was washed ashore at Cape Agulhas, Nova Scotia. 26 souls were lost. Read more at wreck site:
