Percy was born in 1921 in Bulawayo to Russian born parents Abraham and Diana Ellenbogen. Further details about his family are unknown to date.

Percy was onboard Marauder FK362 which departed from Italy at 09.30 to return to Blida, Algeria. Nothing was heard from the aircraft but was seen to crash into the Mediterranean Sea. All crew perished.
