Anthony was born in June 1922 in Bournemouth to John and Fanny née Krotosky and had a brother Geoffrey. Their father John died six months before Tony’s death in 1943. Tony attended Dudden Hill School and then Willesden County School and was good friends with Lionel Anderson who also has a page on the website. The friends were killed six months apart and are both buried in the Netherlands.

Tony volunteered in August 1941 and after training was assigned to 101 Squadron. He was killed on his seventh operation.

Tony was the wireless operator on Lancaster LM370 which departed RAF Ludford Magna on a night operation to Berlin. The aircraft was attacked by night fighters and came down at Oud Schoonebeek (Drenthe) 14 km SSE of Emmen Holland. All the crew were killed.
