Eitel was born on 7 March 1901 in Berlin, Germany to Siegfried and Henriette nee Weissenberg and he had a sister Rosa. It is not known when Eitel came to England but the 1939 census states that he was working as a chauffeur and was married to Charlotte, a shorthand typist and they lived at 117 Goldhurst Terrace in West Hampstead. Eitel’s mother Henriette, a widow, and sister Rosa lived together in Priory Road in Hampstead.

Eitel enlisted into the Pioneer Corps and worked as a dispatch rider. He died in Charing Cross Hospital in London and his death certificate states that he died from left heart failure, coronary atheroma and thrombosis.
