Hanoch was born in 1923 in Berlin, Germany to Israel and Dina-Lya. When the persecution of Jews began in Germany the family immigrated to Israel, first living in Tel Aviv, and then moving to Ramat Gan. Hanoch studied at the Folk School.

He volunteered in 1940 and joined 974 Balloon Squadron. He was killed on 26 Mar 1942 when he was electrocuted whilst handling a balloon near high tension cables.
