David was born on 31 December 1917 in Mile End, London to Polish parents Lazarus, a sheet metal worker, and Beatrice nee Klapper and he had six sisters.
In1939, David was living with his family at 12 Wykeham Green, Barking in Essex and he was working as a manager of a gents outfitters and drapers. In May 1942 he married Ray Crosby in East Ham, Essex and died one year after their marriage.
David was killed in action during the Tunisian Campaign.
