Cyril was born on 25 June 1922 in Hackney, London to Morris (Moses) and Fanny nee Segal and he was the youngest of their four boys. In 1939, Morris was the owner of a building company, his oldest son Horace was an auctioneer and an estate agent, next son Seymour was a medical student, son Gerald was a bookkeeper and Cyril was training to be a solicitor. Cyril passed his examinations in June 1941.

Cyril enlisted into the Navy and was training to be a pilot based at HMS Daedalus, Lee on Solent in Hampshire. Before he was killed, he became engaged to Doris Mindel.

Cyril was onboard Tiger Moth K4261 with flying instructor Pilot Sydney Trout when it collided with Tiger Moth T6288 and spun in & crashed at
Lindridge Field Hall Farm, Botcheston, nr Desford. Both men were killed.
