Boris was born on 12 March 1912 in Whitechapel to Solomon, a naturalised British citizen who was born in Minsk, and Eva Kwock who was born in Poland. Boris and his older brother Hyman qualified as solicitors, brother Isidore was the education officer for Jewish Religious education and the youngest sibling Rose married Dr Aron Owen. Their father died in 1936 and the family were living together in 1939 in Finchley.

Details of Boris’s RAF service are unknown and he does not have a CWGC grave. His sister advised that he was discharged from the RAF when he was diagnosed with cancer in 1943.

Boris’s death certificate states that his cause of death was: ‘Mediastinal carcinoma and multiple secondary deposits. Site of primary growth not known.’
