Abraham was born in 1912 in London City to Samuel and Rebecca nee Lazarus, the youngest of four children. Abraham’s mother Rebecca died in 1918 in Portsmouth aged thirty six and his father died in 1940. Samuel worked as a potato and fruit merchant.

Abraham married Rachel Harris in Portsmouth in 1940 and their only son Stuart was born one month after Abraham’s death.

Abraham was on board Catalina FP 161 which took departed on a ferry flight from Willingdon Beach, Ceylon. The aircraft disappeared without trace over the Bay of Bengal. It was thought that the aircraft was lost as a result of severe weather conditions due to a cyclone on their scheduled route.
