Abraham was born in London in 1903. Research is ongoing to found more about his family. His records show that his home address was 5 Wicker Street, E.1.

He was onboard the S.S. Samala, a cargo steamer, owned by Elders & Fyffes Ltd. The ship was en route from Kingston, Jamaica to Garston, Liverpool carrying 1,500 tons of bananas. She was in the mid-Atlantic when she was torpedoed by U-boat U-37 and sank killing all the 65 crew.
