Marcel was born in Drohobyczka, Poland in 1910, the son of Joseph and Jeudes nee Schreyer. In his hometown he graduated from elementary school and then attended the municipal gymnasium. After completing his high school studies, he decided to emigrate to Israel. In November 1935 he married Sofia Schwarz in Poland and they had a son whose name is unknown. They emigrated and settled in Rishon LeZion where he found a job working on the roads. In 1938, the family moved to Ramat Gan and Marcel began working in Tel Aviv Port. He enjoyed writing and played the violin.

Marcel was based at RAF Heliopolis and was killed during an enemy air raid by the Italians on the 30 July 1942.
