Henry was born in 1925 in Glasgow the son of Gabriel and May Cohen. His father worked as a master furrier and died of carcinoma of the lungs when Henry was five years old.

Henry was on board Wellington HF538 which crashed in Jessore, India killing all crew. His death certificate states that he died of multiple injuries.

A letter written by the RCAF to the Canadian pilot Robert McGee’s family states that the aircraft crashed at 03.42 80 miles NE of Calcutta and 2 miles N of Jessore, Bengal.
