Maurice married Tulip Steinberg in Leeds in 1929. In the 1939 Register, Maurice and Tulip are living at 21 Ayresome Terrace, Leeds and he is listed as working as a cinema film salesman and manager. They had two sons, Michael born in 1941 and Gerald in 1942.

Maurice died at Bedford County Hospital. His death certificate states his death was from, ‘Toxaemia due to gas gangrene due to injuries caused accidentally in a collision between a fire tender and a control van.’
