David was born in 1910 in Islington, London to London born parents Lewis and Esther nee Phillips. David was an only child whose father worked as a fruit buyer in London. David’s cousin Robert Marks was also killed serving in 426 Squadron in 1943. Marks, Robert Philip | Remembering the Jews of WW2

David was the 2nd pilot on Lockheed Hudson AE489.  The aircraft crashed on Glenouther Moor, a short distance from Stewarton in East Ayrshire, on the east coast of Scotland.  The aircraft flew into the ground killing American Pilot Lee Garlow and David.

Some parts from the aircraft were recovered and today are on display in the Dumfries and Galloways Aviation Museum.  http://www.dumfriesaviationmuseum.com/
