Lucien enlisted in the Middle East in November 1940. His service number indicates that he was enlisted via the ‘French in the Middle East and Aden, July 1940.’

Lucien was the pilot of Hudson P5164 which crashed into the Mocattan Hills at Dead City near Abbassia in Egypt, the probable cause being engine failure while flying at low altitude.
