Gordon was born on 9 Feb 1926 in Hampstead, London to London born parents Reginald and Enid nee Pinto and he had two older sisters Valerie and Joyce. Their father Reginald worked as a stockbroker and in 1939 the family were living at 125 Berkley Court, St Marylebone. Details of Gordon’s RAF service are unknown to date.

Gordon died at the Hospital for Tropical Diseases in London. His death certificate states that the cause of his death was: ‘1a Pulmonary Embolism, 1b Deep Femoral Thrombosis (L) leg, 1c Ulcerative Colitis.’
