MAY HIS DEAR SOUL REST IN PEACE&#8217;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator\"\/>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-columns has-2-columns is-layout-flex wp-container-core-columns-layout-1 wp-block-columns-is-layout-flex\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-column is-layout-flow wp-block-column-is-layout-flow\">\n<p>Hyman was born on 25 May 1923 in Whitechapel to Manchester born Isaac and Blanche n\u00e9e Bercovitch. Hyman&#8217;s grandparents originated from Poland and the family worked in the tailoring industry. In 1939, the family lived at 3 Marshall Place, Manchester where Isaac is listed as a costume and mantle tailor and Blanche is a button hole machinist. Hyman enlisted into the RAF at Padgate at the end of 1942.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Hyman was the flight engineer on Lancaster LL904 which departed from RAF Dunholme Lodge on an operation to Schweinfurt. The aircraft crashed near Oppenau, Germany.
