The family then emigrated to South Africa where Frank enlisted into the RAF in Rhodesia in 1940.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Frank was the pilot on Lancaster PB416 which departed from Yagodnik, Russia to return to RAF Woodhall Spa after bombing the Tirpitz in Norway on operation Parvane the previous day. The aircraft came off course and crashed in a mountain in the municipality of Nes. The crew were  buried in the mountains, but moved down to the local churchyard after the war.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Pilot, F\/O&nbsp;Frank Levy <br>Nav, F\/OCharles Lawrence Fox.&nbsp;(Jewish and has a memorial page on the website)<br>F\/E, Sgt. Peter William Groom.&nbsp;<br>W\/Op A\/G, Flt. Sgt. George Muir Mcguire.&nbsp;<br>A\/G, P\/O, Allan Frank Mcnally.&nbsp;<br>A\/B, Flt.Sgt. Eric Edward Stephen Peck.&nbsp;<br>A\/G, Flt.Sgt. Daniel Gorowny Thomas.&nbsp; <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>There were two additional crew members who had survived a crash landing that had written off their aircraft several days earlier. W\/Op, F\/O Denis Charles Shea<br>F\/E, James Frazer Naylor. A tenth body found at the crash site. His name is still unknown.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Tony Iveson DFC visited their graves in 2007.
