In 1939, the family were living in Willesden where their father Harry was an electrical appliance salesman and both of their parents were volunteers in the ARP. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Samuel married Juliet Hart in January 1943 in Willesden five months before he was killed. Juliet remarried in 1945 and had one son.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Samuel was the navigator on Lancaster LM330 which departed RAF Dunholme Lodge on a night operation to Krefeld.
