All six siblings served in WW2, Bertie in the medical branch of the RAF, Rita in intelligence in the ATS and Abby in the Army. Brother Dennis was killed serving in the RAF and brother Harold was killed serving in the Army. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In 1939 the family lived at 240 Westmorland Road, Newcastle upon Tyne. Henry was a tailors cutter and Annie worked as a dressmaker.
