Maurice was born on 5 December 1900 in Bow, London to Lewis and Rebecca nee Sloman and had a younger sister Cissie. From the age of three Maurice attended Stafford Road School in Tower Hamlets, London. In 1911 the family were living at 78 Alkham Road in Stamford Hill and Lewis is listed as working as a catering superintendent. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Maurice married Margery Marks in 1926 in Willesden and their first child Marianne was born in 1930 followed by Lewis in 1933. The 1939 Register states that Maurice worked as an assistant supervisor at J. Lyons catering and was also an ARP warden, his wife was a shorthand typist. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

It is unknown to date Maurice’s role in the RAF. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Maurice died at the Central Middlesex County hospital and his death certificate states that he died from chronic emphysema due to asthma. His post mortem states that he died from natural causes.   <\/p>\n\n\n\n
