In 1939, the family lived at 65 Geldeston Road, Hackney where Sidney&#8217;s father Benjamin worked as a gent&#8217;s tailor. Sidney enlisted at Euston in 1940.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Sidney was the navigator on Lancaster LM446 which departed RAF Dunholme Lodge on a night operation to attack the Gnome and Rhone engine plant.
