Their father Solomon was the treasurer of the Stockport Hebrew Congregation. In 1939, Hyme was living with his family at 65 Grenville Street, Stockport where his father Solomon ran a drapery shop and Hyme was working as his assistant. Hyme was an active community worker and served on the Jewish Effort Committee and the Refugee Committee. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Hyme married Bella Stross in 1942 two months before he was killed. Bella remarried in 1945 to Lewis Hyman and they emigrated to Australia.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Hyme was the navigator on Halifax W1096 which departed RAF Beaulieu on a day cross country training exercise. The mid-upper gunner inadvertently fired a number of rounds into one of the engines causing total hydraulic failure. The aircraft went into a spin and crashed at Wicken Bonhunt, Essex killing four of the crew. The Court of Inquiry stated, &#8216;<em>Mid Upper gunner whilst fooling with guns fired burst into port inner engine which immediately caught fire&#8230;aircraft went into flat spin to port&#8217;.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A\/G, Robert Joseph Cavanaugh, RCAF R\/135149.<br>Pilot, Arthur John Dolding, RCAF R\/101954. <br>W\/Op, Gordon Hubert Richards,  RCAF R\/77962.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A\/B, W.A.
