Arnold (Abram) was born in 1921 in Newcastle upon Tyne to David and Rose n\u00e9e Davis. Arnold’s father David was a ship surveyor and was working in Hong Kong harbour in 1941. He was killed when his launch exploded on the 12 December, six months after Arnold was killed. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Arnold was a member of the Jesmond Playhouse repertory company before moving to Jersey to become the stage manager of playhouse. He enlisted in the RAF at Cardington in 1940. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Arnold was the wireless operator\/air gunner on Hampden P4310 which departed from RAF Waddington on a night operation to Soest. The aircraft was shot down and crashed at Oberwerries, Germany. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
