Lawrence was born 12 August 1915 in King’s Norton, Warwickshire to Joseph and Lydia n\u00e9e Lyons. Husband of Ellen n\u00e9e Dowling of Paddington, London.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Lawrence was the pilot of Stirling EF254 which departed RAF Tuddenham on a Special Operations Executive mission. The aircraft crashed at Villabon in central France killing five of the crew and the bomb aimer and a gunner were captured.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
