Samuel was the son of James and Esther n\u00e9e Kudlatz of Glasgow, Scotland. The Easton family were Presbyterian and Samuel’s father James served in WW1 in Salonica and worked as a music hall caretaker in Glasgow. The Kudlatz family were Jewish and originated from Poland. Samuel’s mother Esther was one of ten children born to Samuel and Nellie Selmonovitz.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Samuel was the navigator of Lancaster LL847 which departed at 16.31 from RAF Waddington on a night operation to Munich. Nothing was heard from the aircraft after takeoff. Post war it was established that the aircraft crashed at Le Gros Theil (Eure) and that all the crew members were killed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
