The Easton family were Presbyterian and Samuel&#8217;s father James served in WW1 in Salonica and worked as a music hall caretaker in Glasgow. The Kudlatz family were Jewish and originated from Poland. Samuel&#8217;s mother Esther was one of ten children born to Samuel and Nellie Selmonovitz.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Samuel was the navigator of Lancaster LL847 which departed at 16.31 from RAF Waddington on a night operation to Munich. Nothing was heard from the aircraft after takeoff.
